Eccentricity Measurement The InteliSENS EG Series non-contact eccentricity and diameter gauge is designed to measure a range of insulated wires up to 12 mm (0.47") in diameter. The EG2012 is ideal for High Frequency Data and small Coaxial Cables where eccentricity is critical for cable performance. The EG2012 is ideal for automotive, instrument, and small power cables where wall thickness and diameter are kept at the optimal size to maintain quality and reduce material usage.Automatic position adjustment ensures the cable is centered within the measurement zone. An integrated or remote SiDi CDi4 display provides a clear view of 8-point wall thickness, diameter, eccentricity, and optional features.Focused on connectivity, the InteliSENS EG Series features 32-bit communication and comes preloaded with Profibus, Profinet, and Industrial Ethernet Protocol for PLC connection. Provides amplitude vs. frequency data and a graphical representation on the universal CDi4 display unit or PCIS software.Single Measurement Fault Detection (SMFD) analyzes each individual measurement and compares it to the current mean. If an individual measurement is above the current mean and exceeds a threshold value, a fault is detected.Measurement PrincipleThe eccentricity gauge combines electromagnetic and optical scanning principles. The optical scanning system is used to define the outer diameter of the cable insulation and the electromagnetic system is used to determine the position of the cable core, eccentricity, and 8-point wall thickness.Optical measurement is performed by sending light from LEDs that shine on the measurement object, thus projecting a shadow onto the CCD receiver.
