The design is crucially based on an external stainless steel casing that supports and protects the main PTFE pump body, which is machined from a solid block of PTFE/Teflon, across a range of pressure and temperature variations. This ensures a perfect seal is maintained under all conditions.The diaphragms are PTFE or TFM with nitrile or EPDM backing. Balls and seats are made from FDA-approved USP Class VI and PTFE or TFM.All this makes the PTFE Chemflo ideal for chemical, pharmaceutical, and similar industries.Flotronic's unique One-Nut concept is particularly useful given the likely applications of Chemflo. The One-Nut double diaphragm pump design is a quick-maintenance, quick-strip concept that turns conventional pumps on their head. The fluid passes between the diaphragms directly through the center of the pump with air pressure operating on the outside. The pump is held together by a nut on the side opposite the external air valve.'One-Nut' allows in-line inspection/replacement of diaphragms in less than 15 minutes. The outer metal casing is another reason for the widespread use of Chemflo in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Others include Chemflo's ability, as an air-operated double diaphragm pump, to self-prime, run dry, operate with dead head, and handle solids.Like all Flotronic pumps, the Chemflo can be customized to suit any application or location.
