Wire preheating is an essential operation to achieve moisture removal from the wire, improve stripping characteristics, and prevent pinhole and bare patch failures.The Proton InteliTHERMTM non-contact spectral radiation temperature gauge is now available for use with new or existing preheaters. Proton preheaters have a high degree of accuracy during preheating; however, for some applications where temperature stability and accuracy are critical, the use of the InteliTHERMTM SRTG device can further improve temperature stability. The InteliTHERMTM SRTG series connects directly to the preheater control module, providing rapid and precise temperature feedback and control. This makes operating the preheater as simple as setting the temperature and pressing "go".TechnologyThe short-circuit pulley rim is made of a special copper alloy with high electrical conductivity and good wear resistance.The insulating pulley is made of resin-bonded fabric, offering good wear resistance and low thermal conductivity to minimize heat loss between the wire and the pulley.The pulleys are mounted on double-row, low-friction ball bearings to minimize drag force (tension increase) on the wire as it passes through the preheater.
